What Qembara expects of every host, before, during and after an Experience.
Qembara connects Guests with locally hosted Experiences. This Code translates Qembara’s Host Terms and Community Standards into the minimum conduct and service duties expected from every Host and every person engaged by a Host. It applies when creating or managing a Listing, communicating with a Guest, preparing and delivering an Experience, handling an incident, and following up after delivery.
The Host remains the independent supplier of the Experience and is responsible for its personnel, venues, equipment, permits, insurance, safety and lawful delivery. This Code does not replace the Host Terms or applicable law. A confirmed Booking must be delivered according to the Listing, Booking Confirmation and policies recorded for that Booking.
| Commitment | Host promise |
|---|---|
| Be truthful | Represent the Host, Experience, people, price, availability, qualifications and material conditions accurately. |
| Be reliable | Honour confirmed Bookings, communicate promptly and deliver what was promised at the agreed time and place. |
| Keep people safe | Identify and control foreseeable risks, use capable personnel and stop delivery when continuing would be unreasonably dangerous. |
| Respect every Guest | Provide dignified, inclusive service without harassment, coercion, retaliation or unlawful discrimination. |
| Deliver Muslim-friendly hospitality | Meet Qembara’s baseline, make precise claims and respect reasonable faith, modesty, privacy and dietary needs. |
| Protect privacy and consent | Collect only necessary information and respect boundaries, photography choices and confidential records. |
| Act fairly on the Platform | Keep Bookings and payments on Qembara, protect review integrity and cooperate honestly with support and investigations. |
Qembara’s Muslim-Friendly Baseline is a service-design and disclosure standard, not a test of the Host’s or Guest’s faith and not a religious ruling by Qembara. Hosts of every background may qualify. Guests of every faith are welcome and must receive the same respectful service, subject only to lawful, necessary and proportionate participation conditions disclosed before Booking.
| Attribute | Minimum evidence and wording control |
|---|---|
| Halal-certified food or venue | Current evidence covering the named provider, premises, product or service scope. State the certifier and scope; do not imply the entire Experience is certified. |
| Halal ingredients used; not certified | Supplier or ingredient evidence plus clear disclosure of kitchen, utensil and cross-contact limitations. Never shorten the claim to “halal-certified.” |
| Alcohol-free Experience | No alcohol is served or intentionally used within the defined Experience. Disclose any relevant venue or third-party limitation. |
| Prayer space available | Verify location, access, cleanliness, privacy, opening time and material limitations. |
| Gender-sensitive arrangement | State the personnel, space, timing and privacy configuration. It must be lawful, necessary where restrictive, approved where required and deliverable as described. |
When there is immediate danger, the Host must move people away from danger where safely possible, contact local emergency services, follow responder instructions and provide reasonable first response within the Host’s competence. Qembara support is not a substitute for police, fire, ambulance, medical, security or other emergency services.
Qembara may assess Listing content, messages, Booking records, Guest reports, Host responses, ratings, incidents, evidence and lawful third-party information. It considers seriousness, immediacy, vulnerability, intent, impact, recurrence, cooperation, remediation and continuing risk. A report or interim restriction does not by itself establish fault.
Depending on the circumstances, Qembara may educate, warn, require correction or training, remove content or a claim, cancel a Booking, restrict a Listing or account, pause publication, require evidence, apply payment controls authorised by the Host and Payment Terms, or suspend or remove a Host. Safety, refund, payout and conduct decisions remain separately reasoned and recorded.
Where appropriate and lawful, Qembara will give the Host notice of the material concern, a reasonable opportunity to respond and access to the approved internal-review process. Immediate or interim action may be taken without prior notice where reasonably necessary to protect a person, evidence, the Platform or compliance with law. Popularity, revenue or Host status does not override evidence or safety.
Qembara Experiences Pte Ltd operates the Qembara Platform and provides marketplace, booking, payment-facilitation and support services. Except where a listing expressly identifies Qembara as the supplier, Qembara is not the host and is not a party to the experience contract.
