How Qembara prices experiences and what you pay.
Simple Summary
Every experience price is built from the price the Host sets (the Host Amount) plus a Qembara Guest Service Fee, which is set for each market and added on top. The Total Price, with each component, is always shown before you pay, in the currency you are charged in. No Host Service Fee applies at launch.
Each experience price is built in a few clear steps, ending in the Total Price you see before paying.
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Host Amount | The Host sets the price of the Experience in SGD, SAR, USD, MYR or IDR. It includes every unavoidable Host charge and any Host taxes, and excludes the Qembara Guest Service Fee. |
| Currency conversion | The price is worked out in the Host’s currency. Where you are charged in another currency, the Total Price is converted to it once at the active exchange rate, under the Currency and Exchange Rate Policy. |
| + Qembara Guest Service Fee | A market-level Qembara Guest Service Fee is added on top of the Host Amount (see section 2). |
| + Taxes and other charges | Applicable taxes, and any third-party charges or extras you select, are shown as separate lines. |
| = Total Price | The total you pay, less any valid discount or credit. It is shown with each component and its currency before payment, and that amount, in that currency, is what you are charged. You are charged in the currency you select when it is SGD, SAR, MYR or IDR and the Host’s currency can be converted to it; otherwise you are charged in SGD, and amounts shown in another currency are estimates. |
The Qembara Guest Service Fee is what Qembara charges Guests for its marketplace services, such as curation, secure payments, guest and host support, safety and dispute handling.
It is a percentage of the Host Amount, set per market. It is added on top of the Host Amount and paid by the Guest, is not deducted from the Host Amount, and is shown as a separate line at checkout before you confirm payment. It is also recorded in your Booking Confirmation.
Where a valid promo code or credit applies, the discount is applied to the Total Price and shown clearly before payment.
Promo codes and credits may carry conditions, for example a minimum spend, an expiry date, a usage limit, or eligibility limited to specific experiences or markets. A code that does not meet its conditions will not be applied.
No Host Service Fee applies at launch. Qembara’s remuneration is the Qembara Guest Service Fee paid by the Guest. Qembara will give Hosts at least 30 days’ notice, including tax treatment, before any Host Service Fee applies. A Host Service Fee, if introduced, is deducted from the Host Payout and is never added to a Guest’s confirmed Total Price.
Hosts receive their Payout in the currency in which they set the Host Amount, for the amount shown when the Booking was confirmed, subject to the Payment Terms and any authorised deductions. Qembara bears exchange-rate movement between checkout and Payout.
Qembara fees are managed centrally and may change over time. Qembara will disclose material fee changes prospectively and will not change the fee for an existing Booking unless the law requires it or you expressly agree.
A fee change never affects a booking you have already confirmed: the Total Price shown to you at checkout is the price that applies to that booking.
For questions about pricing or fees, contact Qembara support. This Pricing & Fee Policy should be read together with the Guest Terms, Host Terms, Payment Terms, Currency and Exchange Rate Policy, and Cancellation and Refund Policy.
